Mid-Winter Convention -  2/28/2009

Club Secretary Art Klein and last year's president Bob Saliba were recently seen at the Kiwanis Mid-Winter Convention in Somerset with Michael Mullhaul 2008's Kiwanis State Governor.

 

The Annual Fall Clean-up -  11/22/2008

The annual fall clean-up by the Morristown Kiwanis Club took place on a beautiful fall Saturday morning at the Mount Kemble Home.

 

 

Installation Dinner for President Steve McKinley -  10/30/2008

 

This year’s installation dinner held on the evening of October 30th at Tiffany’s Restaurant in Morris Plains was a huge success and very enjoyable event.  Thirty (30) people attended including members, spouses and guests.  Jim Galbraith, Jr. gave the invocation, Lt. Governor Joyce Garrow (Parsippany Club) performed the installation of officers for the new Kiwanis year, past President Bob Saliba briefly reviewed the past year and commented on his two terms as President.

Kiwanis Scholarship Awarded -  6/12/2008

Congratulations to Cecilia Mann of Morristown. She was the recipient of this year's $4,000.00 Kiwanis Annual Scholarship. Cecilia is a MHS Key Club member and will be enrolled at Fordham University this fall. Thanks to Kim Ryan for making the presentation...

 

Foote's Pond Clean Up - May 2008 -  5/31/2008

Members of Kiwanis spent a sunny day in May working at Foote's Pond. Under the direction of Steve Mckinley, we were able to remove loads of dead debris and unwanted growth. Lots of laughs were shared by those who attended. Ok, we worked up a little sweat too...

 

Garage Sale raises $$$ for the club... -  5/3/2008

The Club made about $175.00 from the garage sale on Saturday May 3rd. Thanks to Kathleen and Steve McKinley for heading this up and to all who participated.

 

Morristown Clean Up Day - Foote's Pond -  4/19/2008

Morristown Kiwanis did its share of helping a group of about 50 community members in helping clean up Morristown on April, 19, 2008. We were responsible for cleaning up around Foote's Pond. Our small group of 14 took on the challange and we tackled a much needed project with great success. A special "Thanks" goes out to those members of the Key Club that pitched in to help. 

 

Salvation Army Appreciates Kiwanis -  4/1/2008

During an appreciation dinner at the Morristown Salvation Army on 4/1/08 we were presented a plaque by Commander Walter Droz in appreciation for our participation in the Christmas bell-ringing. Thanks to all for your support!!!

 

Morris County Saint Patrick's Day Parade -  3/16/2008

Tens of thousands thronged sidewalks from South Street to Atno Avenue as bagpipes swelled, kicking off the 30th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday afternoon.

This year's procession featured 20 marching and bagpiper bands and more than 100 groups and organizations that included local politicians, emergency responders and veterans. The Morristown Kiwanis Club was well represented...

Kevin J. Langan, a former Morris Plains resident who now lives in Sparta, was this year's grand marshal.

 

Daily Record Article -  3/15/2008

 Members of the Kiwanis Club of Morristown got together at the Morristown Lumber Co. on Friday to put together their float for today's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The float was built onto one of the lumber company's flatbed trucks and would travel the parade route with Kiwanis who would be marching along with members of the Morristown High School Key Club and the Frelinghuysen Middle School Builders Club.

 

Ringing the bell for a good cause... -  12/15/2007

Ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at the Morris Plains Plaza on December 15th, 2007 raised $798.32. Many thanks to all our volunteers who stood outside on a very cold and windy day to make this fundraising event so successful.
